Borrowing a bike to take abroad

Tried a search - but no joy.

If I wanted to insure a mate's bike for 2 weeks, including use in Ireland, can anyone recommend an insurer?

Or should I ask my insurer to move/extend my cover? My bike may not be repaired in time (only got a week - long story!)

Extending your insurance would definitely worth looking at first.

The 2 options I would explore first are:
1. can you be added as a named rider on the mate's insurance?
2. can you add the bike to your own policy?

Should have guessed the above, but panicking a bit!

Is there a simple "pay by the day" method separate to my/my mate's policy?

These are certainly the easiest (and quite possibly the cheapest) first options, I should imagine.

Failing either of those, Google: short term insurance for a borrowed motorcycle or some similar combination of words and surf away.

Whilst in the car earlier I heard an advert on the radio for this lot Temp Cover

Seem to do what you need
