I have installed a BOS system & I wonder if anyone would mind answering a few questions..

The inner end piece (decibel eater) is removable, after removing a bolt & breaking a tack weld . Actually, it feels like there is a little "tit" in there ??

Do you still have yours in ??
If not, how much louder is it ?? (obnoxious, deafening ??)
Important this one......Can it be simply replaced if required ??
Any "noticable" power gains with it out ??
I have attempted to remove but afeared of damaging it, so I aborted my attempt to wait for more info.....any tips on removal without damage ??

Thanks

The removable 'decibel eater' on mine was quite stiff to pull out once the bolt and tack weld were removed. You might need to be a little 'forceful'. Mine has been out since day one, I doubt there is any performance advantage and possibly just the opposite. I think it sounds good, but my mate says it sounds like a tractor! Personal preferences and all that.

I bought mine second hand and the weld had already been 'broken'. It is now held in place by a small s/s bolt.
Have you seen the PDF on the Bos web site which details its removal and replacement?

I ran mine with it out for a while but, TBH, I prefered the sound with the db eater in place. It's not 'offensively' loud when fully open, I just prefered the sound with it in :thumb
Re performance gains, I really couldn't feel a difference, maybe right at the very top end but nothing to right home about.
