Does anyone know if the full BOS system will fit with Hepco and Becker engine bars? I was thinking of the oxygen sensor clearance specifically.

I can now answer my own question for the benefit of others. No they don't fit. The trouble is the BOS System is sooooo good (well built, fits perfectly and quiet with the DB Eater in) that I'm going to keep it; even though the good people at Fowlers in Bristol offered me "fit or return". Brilliant service - even had a 'phone call to see if I was happy. I'm now going to look at alternatives (doesn't the cost grow!!), although I could remove metal from the H&B bars to make them fit as the clearance problem is around the oxygen sensors, I would not be happy doing this.

Is it just me ?

I have read the above posts several times and have not a feckin clue what they are about !

Check out the SW Motech bars, they mount differently to the H and B and don't cause conflicts with the sensors.

Yes - I am talking about an exhaust system. I should have made that clear (re-reading and I see the problem) but as has been pointed out Geordies can talk differently (where's the "r" in castle for example). ;) Thanks for the suggestion of the Motech bars - looks to be the perfect solution and a little less expensive. Got loads of clearance between the BOS silencer and my Jesse panniers now. :)

wilbjr21, I have this evening installed the same BOS system & I wonder if you would mind answering a few questions that are not thread related.

The inner end piece, which is removable after removing a bolt & breaking a tack weld .

Do you still have yours in ??
If not, how much louder is it ?? (obnoxious, deafening ??)
Can it be simply replaced if required ??
Any "noticable" power gains with it out ??

Thanks

I still have the inner end piece "Decibel Eater" in and I don't think I'll be removing it. I always wear plugs (Duocom with speakers for intercom etc.) and didn't think the exhaust was any louder. I took the bike out this afternoon without earplugs just to listen to it. It's not much louder under gentle throttle operation but give it a handful and it has a lovely noise under acceleration and there feels to be a performance advantage. I'm very happy as the exhaust looks really good (stainless steel) and has a big gap with my panniers (Jesse). It doesn't matter what you do with the original silencer; when mounting with Jesse luggage and bracketing the silencer will eventually rotate and reduce the gap between the silencer and the pannier. With the mounting bracket of the BOS silencer no rotation is possible. Jesse supply a special (straight) bracket for aftermarket silencers. My Motech engine bars should be here tomorrow from Nippy Normans to complete the job.
Well that's me spent up for a while. :(

Thanks wilbjr21,
I have just been on a test run & all is well. I would love to hear the effect with the "decibel eater" out but I'm afraid it may be a one way trip.
