Has anyone ever had the ABS lights come on Solid for any reason? (ABS2 from c2000)

Had a strange behaviour yesterday when taking my R850GS out for a quick test ride after fitting my JohnGS chip. Engine starts and idles perfectly, and rode fine out of the village. Accelerated hard down the road and shortly afterwards the top ABS light came on solid and then shortly after than the bottom one also came on solid. Bike continued to run fine.

Turned off the ignition, bike went through ABS startup procedure and lights went out as normal.

Anyone see this before, or got any ideas what I could check.

I'll take it out again today for another go and see if I can replicate it.

… after fitting my JohnGS chip…
If I get a problem straight after making a change, my first suspicion is always that the problem was caused by the change.

Other than that, I'm not sure about ABS2, but on the servo version the lower light can come on steady when the brake light bulb is dodgy (even if the bulb is still working).

I understand your logic, but from what I can see in the wiring diagrams there is no cross connection or communication between the Motronic Ecu unit and the Abs controller, so i think thats a red herring, unless I disturbed the Abs connector whilst getting the Motronic out, that is a possibility.

I took the bike out again yesterday and the problem didn't repeat, so it's not looking like a consistently repeatable thing. I'll keep an eye on it for now before I get under the tank again and start pulling things apart again.
