bought a gsa w so excited, what tyres?

I've just fitted a set of Avon Trailriders to my 2015 GSA, only done about 150 miles on them so far, they warm up very quickly but I have had the feeling my rear wheel was loose on roundabouts.
It may just be the tread pattern on the edges (coming from Annakee III's so it may just need a few more miles on them to settle in) but you can see the different compound line down the middle of the tyre.
Off to Morocco at the weekend so I'll be able to comment more on my return.

I'm picking the GSA up in a week (hopefully) and to be honest, I'm not that fussed on what tyres fitted! Over the years I've ridden on about everything out there but whatever was fitted I have never been or wanted to push the tyre to it's limits. I can see the point of fitting a more off road bias tyre but for road work, I'm happy with any of the big name tyres and fit the best deal tyre at the time.....Oh and for the record, I'm an old git that goes on runs most weekends with a mixture of BMs....GS's, K1300s, RT,s and the odd R1 ;-) and they all like to make progress....if you get my drift.

How do you find the shorter GS screen? Im still struggling with the larger screen on my GSA as the buffeting & wind noise is still very bad over 60mph.
 
I wondered what my tinted GS screen would look like on a GSA.... now i know! Think i'll keep it and fit it!

Hi everyone sorry for the late reply ended up driving me nuts the screen haha wasn't to bad but banged wind in my face a bit,

went for a light smoke puig one in the end I'll throw some pictures up at weekend, but kept the winglets did a big trip down to cornwall on the a3's in the worst weather I've ever experienced hale stone the a3's worked great properly worn out now though lol. Mainly riding roads as my little cousin is in tow on his 883 Iron harley now, so sort of limits the places my gsa can go when Im with him, have a great craic though.

back on tyre wise

has anyone had the avon trail riders yet? and done some decent milage going to be doing a 20 mile commute every day each way so looking at a fair bit plus 100-300 at weekends for fun

I've done about 400 miles on my Avon's over the Christmas break (about 500 in total so far). I seem to be in a phase where they are just getting better and better. All the wet weather has certainly given me the chance to see what they can do with standing water around and I have no complaints.:thumb2
 
Cheers mate :) always rains near me like every day lol and set off at 5 am when I start using it rather than the car so slippy wet roads :thumb:beerjug:
 
I had PR4's fitted to my GSA-LC when I took ownership two months ago and they really are just superb, I had them on my previous GS-LC, equally awesome, and they don't half improve the ride quality.

Wear is good too!
 
The thing with pr4s I found was that , even though I am very near the limit in the wear indicators, they still haven't squared off at all.

Superb road tyre. Off road you will need something else.

I found the Anakee 3's more stable at speed, and the PR4's feel little squiggly powering out low speed tight turns but, the PR4's wet grip is so amazing, its well worth having them.
 
Mine came with Anakees on and I never really got on with them from the outset, also, only managed to get around 3800 miles from a rear, being Scottish I was a bit peeved at this. Since getting the PR4s I am much happier - from a 'confidence in the wet', chicken strip eradication and best of all... mileage point of view.

I shall be replacing them with more PR4s :-)
