I decided to get an 1150 ADV. First ride home tonight, thoughts are as follows;

1. It's no 1200.......
2. It's big.........
3. It's heavy, although not as heavy as i expected. A lot of people told me that it would be heavy, dunno what i expected but it's very manageable.
4. Runs rough when cold. Seems to be running rough at idle, almost like it is running on 1, then smooths out at around 2000 rpm.
5.It is IMO a better looking bike than the 1200.
6. Fuel gauge does funny things, I put 20 quid in with 1 bar showing, i didnt want to load it up weight wise on the first day, and the gauge went up to 1/2, then 20 mins later to 1 bar from full. First thoughts are float holed?

Overall i like the bike. I got it from ADVENTURE STU from this site. I am still in 1200 mode at the mo, but after 65 miles, i think i'm gonna like it!!!

I went from an 08 GSA to an 1150GSA and I prefer the later, not as much go, but then who needs the extra.:)

1. It's no 1200....... thats a good thing surely? :nenau
2. It's big......... yup :thumb2
3. It's heavy, although not as heavy as i expected. A lot of people told me that it would be heavy, dunno what i expected but it's very manageable. you only notice the weight when manouver, manoovering, manouvring...:blast when moving it, especially with a full tank
4. Runs rough when cold. Seems to be running rough at idle, almost like it is running on 1, then smooths out at around 2000 rpm. is it ready for a service? probably easily solved with the usual TBs synced, clearances, plugs etc
5.It is IMO a better looking bike than the 1200. and better built, more reliable.... etc, etc :D
6. Fuel gauge does funny things, I put 20 quid in with 1 bar showing, i didnt want to load it up weight wise on the first day, and the gauge went up to 1/2, then 20 mins later to 1 bar from full. First thoughts are float holed? they are not the most accurate, the tank is a weird shape

Get some miles under your wheels and you will like it more and more :thumb2

Well, thats the running sorted. Set up the throttle bodies, base idle, adjusted the T/pot, cleared down fault codes, runs like an absolute dream. It really is like a different bike, very crisp, pulls cleanly from idle, great job.:D

I suspect the in tank breather pipes are fouling the float, making the gauge read wrong. It's had a fuel filter recently so this could be the case:nenau

I've just filled the bugger up so that job will have to wait!!!!
