Box with little red crosses

Every time (virtually) I try to open up a thread (new or old) I don't see the foto but only a small little box with a little red cross in it - any ideas?

I haven't adjusted anything but I suspect the bods have work have increased PC security and reduced what we "workers" can see

Help!

Sometimes you can R click on the cross and find the 'properties'. These should give an http address which can be copied/pasted into the browser addresss bar.

Tried it but no luck.
