'Well good for you -only I was not trying to 'beat' it, I was trying to find out which bits I needed to fit it to my bike'

.. then ask ask nicely ... the clutch lid option is not a RAM part ... its a re-worked part by the reseller as I have said before .. as to RAM USA .. not sure who you have bought from as they do not sell direct.

Flip the Beemer logo bezel off and look inside.

The head bolt attaches to the stem, this may be smooth or threaded. My guess.. and its a guess at this stage .. and based upon later models 1200S is its 10mm threaded, so have used a RAM-B-238 (has 3/8" thread) just like this review http://www.ram-mount-uk.com/bike-mount56.htm

As to the mirror base part with 11mm hole, its a RAM-B-252 .. but in the TTUK catalog it has added bits so becomes a clamping bolt with arm (069-0008) which cycocactive (aka TT USA) sell but with change the part number.

I took the Beemer logo off but underneath is a solid brass plug, which I cannot remove as there is no lip to get any leverage.

Can you please post me a pic of same ride view but with the beemer bezel flipped off as I want to see inside.. :augie

Here you go :

The mucky stuff is basically the sponge backing to the Beemer logo which came away when the logo was flipped open.

Thanks for the sneak look .. at least clears up any choice of using the yoke stem.

Its limited choices, but still using the RAM-B-252 (cycocative call grab11) on a '99 1100S look at the mount position and since both setups are similar you'll need to get locally one M8 x50mm socket cap screw plus 10mm spacer and washer .. http://www.touratech-usa.com/shop/gallery.lasso?A=BMW&B=Sport&C=GPS&D=GPS+V

Only Touratech USA wont ship the part to the UK, because they wont infringe Touratech UKs market. And Touratech UK wont sell you the part, because they say it is a RAM part, and RAM UK tell you it is a Touratech part....Enjoy.

Disappointed with RAM and Touratech, especially disappointed to be told to 'ask nicely' when I have spent hours (and a small fortune) on the phone doing just that. And I have just ended up with a garage full of bits and no means to attach the GPS to the bike.

Get the clutch-reservoir cover mount :thumb2

The clamp that fits the ignition barrel looks nasty :o
