So I bought three velcro watch straps off AliExpress.
Now my first world problems are solved.

I got pissed off with my Klim braces constantly pinging off so now use a belt. I like your ingenuity with the Velcro watch straps but what about the back clip of the braces?
There are three clips, replaced with three watch straps. The back one never pinged off, but it got the same treatment out of spite.
Recommend getting a quality seamstress to fit permanent tags and braces, onto bike trousers, no more pinging!............... Circus clowns been using them for ages! 
Thanks but what do you loop the back watch strap through? On my Klim Kodiak trousers the only loop at the back is the hanging loop.
Yeh that is the hanging hook. There’s a great seamstress who works for my daughter’s company who make tree tents & bespoke glamping units. I’ll ask if she can put a loop in the back of my trousers like the front ones. She could use the tent canvas.

All you needed to do was remove the clips and thread the leather loop on the braces through the material loop on the troos…

Thanks. Doesn’t seem to have much for the teeth of the braces clip to grab. I use a belt because the braces ping off so easily but I like braces so I’m going to give the Velcro watch straps a go.

They look sturdy
Maybe... Possibly too wide for the front ones.
I'd have had to de-rivet, thread and re-rivet (too permanent) or rivet a press stud through both bits of leather. Prefer the velcro. The watch straps just slotted over the existing metal loops, they split in the middle.
