Just got the 550, and need a bit of advice as to fitting the thing so it sits above the clocks, and not on the handle bar. Does anyone know of a bracket that enables me to fit the RAM thingy above the clocks, (the 'U' bracket supplied only fits the handle bar) or am I going to have to manipulate the supplied 'U' bracket to fit (last option) any feedback would be most grateful. As I am now skint I don't REALLY want to spend loads doing this? I also have to wire the dam thing as well, HEEEELLPPPP :nenau :beerjug:

I have used the following Ram parts ordered frm gps warehouse.

RAM-B-231Z 3 £11.98inc VAT (replacement U bolt
RAP 319 £1.98inc VAt (shim)

These parts fit well and not too dear.

I was going to ask the very same question myself, so thanks, Martin. I've just ordered those two parts myself.

Fitting the Zumo on the outboard handlebar just didn't seem a good idea. What's the end result look like mounting it with these new parts? Pictures?

Mounted mine on an existing Migsel ram mount bracket which I'd previously used with te BMW Nav II, places the unit above the clocks and is easily accessible for controls and is easy to see the screen as it's just below your eyeline.

The supplied powerlead comes with an inline fuse so you can connect direct to the battery if you want or make a connecton to the one of the existing accessory sockets.

I've already a switched Centech Fuse Box so used that for the power. :thumb
