If you had to work in Bradford but didn't mind doing a half hour commute where would you live?

:)

Cullingworth, ££

Harden [honestly] ££

Norwood green £££

Park Lane or Lady lane [bingley] ££

Would be looking for a flat that the company would pay for, I'd be back down South at the weekend. Decent pubs local would also be a bonus :thumb2

Skipton
or
Otley

Both lively traditional Yorkshire Market towns with good facilities, a lively selection of pubs and some quaint old charm and open countryside nearby

OMFG :blast More invading Southerners  Neighbourhood's going downhill :blast Serve good shandy round here tho :augie

Otley

Whatton -- If schools are not an issue , and you can cope without a train station in the town , it would be difficult to beat Otley , (and only JohnnyBoxer knows how hard it is for me to agree with him !) .
The other suggestions all have something to recommend them , and all have the drawback of you ending up realising that going South really is "going downhill !"
All the best , Jim .

you'll have to buy a flat cap and learn what a 'whippet' is

ther's a yorkshire speak translator on the net somewhere - get learning :)

dont rule out yeadon guiseley horsforth rodley pudsey

all in Leeds 1/2 half hour commuter either Bradford or Leeds

old and contemporary bars good eating spots night-life

I work in Bradford and live in Leeds.
A lot depends on where you are going to be based and what transport you intend to use.
Living somewhere like Otley would take 35mins from the city center by bike, well it did on my Busa but once we get to winter time obviously the times go up.
Ilkley has a decent train link and takes one of the chaps in our office (Bradford University) 40 minutes, but he just says forget using a car as it takes twice as long
I live in Gildersome which is 7 - 10 miles away depending on which route I use 15 - 20 mins on bike, 25 - 35mins by car.
I'd be quite happy to show you some of the better & oh no areas if you are coming up for a look

Keith
