Due to a recent incident of having a gudgeon pin falling out on my shiny vario levers...resulting in my front brake lever falling off whilst road riding,i have decided to refit my old, boring but safe levers.

Well i would if i had not mis-placed them somewhere in my house, backup plan was to order some second-hand levers from Motorworks. The newish levers arrived the next day as is usual with everything i ordered from them..very good on getting items to you quick.

Problem is the levers appear to be the wrong type..by their records, they fit an 1150 GSA ( 02 plate ) and have had many customers order this type....Black,heavily engineered lever with span adjuster and what appears to be a 20mm thin black plunger or dangly bit on the inside of the lever coupling, and hollow ball lever end.

My old levers were solid ball, cast aluminium ( silver ) with span adjuster, very simple engineering, the same as a jap bike lever and did not have the plunger/dangly bit on them?

What does everyone else have fitted to their 1150 GSA ( 02 )...black/fancy or silver/simple levers,or do i have the handlebars off a normal GS fitted or something?

And yes...next time i take a part off,i will put it somewhere findable again....dont suppose anyone near Fleet or Basingstoke has a spare front brake lever of the type i need by chance?

Thanks for help

Problem Solved, the levers were off a BMWR roadster. However, when the Vario lever detached,it took a tiny chunk of the original lever bracket with it,that i didnt originally notice,This made the replacement lever from Motowerks not correctly line up.

Damage repaired, lever is now fitting fine.
