When I turn on the ignition after the initial checks are complete I get the "brake failure" indicator flashing on the digital display and this goes out as soon as the bike moves off.

My salesman tells me to ignore it and mentioned it may be to do with the battery not being fully charged but as long as it stays off whilst riding not to worry.

Mmmm fair enough I guess.

I haven't done many miles yet and I'm not sure if the battery is fully charged, I'm investing in a charger. But has anyone else got this? I did a search in the forums and there was one thread that mentioned the battery, but nothing much else.

Any help appreciated.

Perfectly normal for my 1150 GSA. Switch on the ignition and let everything go clickety click for a couple of seconds before touching anything. Once it's all calmed down start the engine and ride off. The light should then go out.

had the same prob on 54 adv was water getting in connection on r/h side under seat dried out and covered in vasline no probs since... :)
cheers roy

"this goes out as soon as the bike moves off."
I think what your talking about is normal, but the important thing is when you move off the system activates and the lights turn off indicating all is well, I think the abs does'nt activate till the bike reach's about 5/6 mph but I may be wrong on that figure.

Whoops, sorry it's a GS1200, seems I've got nothing to worry about. I checked in the manual and it doesn't even reference the indicator let alone suggest it will flash.

Seems the technology in the bike doesn't keep up with the technical authors!

Many thanks all.
