I still need help. Posted this a few weeks ago. I'm having a problem with my 1200GS (06 Aust model, ABS iii I think, no servo). The "brake failure" light started staying on a month or so ago. When I turned the ignition off it would reset and be ok for about 20ks. I also charged the battery and now have a trickle charger on the battery full time. It happened again but after resetting lasted about 10 ks, then next time 5ks, now it is on all the time (battery voltage 13v). Checked fluid, all good. Checked pads - 1 rear one was down a little, I have now replaced the rear pads, looked at the ABS sensor and replaced FD oil , still the light is on. Front pads look fine.
I had the tank off and looked at the ABS unit (no servo) but everything looks good, no moisture, no where to check fluid levels. Wiring looks good. Checked levers and hand guards all clear. I can't find a rear brake switch but the brake light is not on and I definately don't rest my foot on the lever. Does anyone have any ideas??
