brake failure

Does the brake switch come with wires to a connector? If so, chop one of the wires from the rear brake switch = brake switch now off. If the fault goes away, replace the switch and the chopped cable, if not, inline splice it :)

sound like the staff in this dealership need a swift kick up the arse john and your perfectly reasonable statement would send them in a flat spin:blast

could this reluctance to do the above have something to do with the bloody canbus fluid leaking when you cut the wire:D:D

IMHO manxman sending you away with a bike with faulty brakelights is fackin stupid and a tad dangerous you should have been furnished with a curtesy bike till this fault was dealt with.

i would be asking to speak with the management to thrash this out.

I spoke too soon- in my earlier post I said that I had got a GSA and had no problems- gear indicator has gone south, No damage, corrosion etc, itjust won't show any gear at all, evwn with it off and fiddling with it.

Seems like SSB will be getting some of my hard earned pennies in the morning- am seeing a lot of them lately- they currently have my 1150 in for an insurance repair.....

just about to take my baby back to the BMW garage and leave it with them so they can find the fault and repair it. will keep you guys posted and keep my fingers crossed that i dont have to re mortgage the house to pay for it

the fault turned out to be a broken wire in the loom. the mechanic put a new wire in and hey presto, everything works again. No parts needed, just two and a half hours labour and £198 light in the wallet but i have my bike back on the road
