Brake feel & response

From the very early days i haven't been overly happy with the "feel" & response/feedback of the brakes on my 09 GS.with genuine pads
I would appreciate opinions (God forbid for me asking) on Ferodo or other non OE material out there.

I run EBC HH pads....cheap enough, good feel wet or dry and so far lasted about 20,000 miles with only about 50% wear.....
Some like em , some don't, brake pads are nearly as bad as tyres and oil for 27 differing opinions...

09 makes 2 year old pads.. which mean with the heat cycles.. (and I dunno what miles you have done) that they will have hardened so lost the feel... So new OE pads will be much softer and give much more feel...

But having said that new nicer/softer pads would be even better...

If you haven't done so already, strip and clean the calipers/brake piston skirts. Also clean the pads along their sides where they fit into the caliper slots.

You'll probably be surprised how much more feel and power you can get from the OE brakes after a good stripdown and clean.

It's also worth checking the rear caliper slider works without sticking, I had to split my caliper in two and clean/lube the guide pins/bushes. An instant improvement to the linked brakes once done.

Just fitted std Ferodo's on the front and they are very good, the old OEM ones were thin and 15k old so as mentioned above the age of the old pads may have something to do with it

would recommend the Ferodo and were about a third of the price I paid for OEM set on the rear (£24 pair versus £65)
