Brake Fluid Change - Filling Adaptor

I did this job two weeks ago, with many thanks to 'Easysushi' of this parish (top bloke) who has his own filling funnel adaptor and GS-911 to check for faults before and after.

I reckon the threaded funnel with 'o' seal is essential/invaluable if you don't have an assistant to hand. The ABS pump reservoir caps are about £20 a pair to buy in order to make one yourself(on my to-do list).

You have to be careful not to introduce even the tiniest air bubbles whilst filling the ABS pump, and keep it full whilst bleeding, hence the sealed funnel to provide a 'head' of clean DOT4 fluid to the pump. You also need to ensure the utmost cleanliness to avoid any dirt entering the ABS pump.

I believe some other forum members have just filled the pump as they bled, but I wouldn't advocate that personally due to the risks of fluid spillage or running the pump dry and causing expensive damage.

Thanks Adam. Are the pump caps £20 at the BMW dealer? Seems an ok price, do you want to go halves? Rupert

I was told they are about £20 a pair but haven't looked any further into it. If you wanna buy a pair I'll take one off your hands.:thumb2
