Brake fluid change on ABS version?

I recently bought a low mileage(2200km) X Country that was last serviced 3 years ago by a BMW dealer. I am not impressed with this dealer but unfortunately the bike will have to go there for the recall work to be carried out.
Anyway, to the point! I need to perform a service and changing the brake fluid is one of the tasks. Can this be done without the BMW special tool? I've seen a video with someone performing the task using a GS911, but obviously that is quite expensive to purchase.
Any knowledgable advise most welcome.

I have no experience of the ABS on the g650's.

Regards fork oil- i don't think i will matter a great deal which weight oil you choose to use. I tried several different weights in my XChallenge, and can't say i noticed a difference (but then the standard forks are cr@p anyway).

Not sure what this GS911 is you refer to? Is it a clever box of tricks for fault codes?

I've been servicing my XC ever since purchase 5 years ago now. I've never bothered with checking for fault codes. If the bike is running fine they why go looking for trouble .

Changing the oil is straightforward, as is adjusting the valves.

there is a link in this part of the forum to a reprom- a factory workshop manual that tells you how to do everything. Worth looking up if you can find it.

The diagnostic tool allows you to bleed all the fluid out of the ABS system along with others things like resetting service reminders. From what I've read so far the ABS system holds very little fluid and so bleeding it the traditional way should work fairly well. Apparently taking the bike for a run and activating the ABS before performing a 2nd bleed removes the last traces of old fluid.
Regarding the fork oil, I would simply like to find out what they come with originally so as to have a base to work from should I wish to modify.
I understand the forks are quite basic but this motorcycle will be very carefully ridden by my wife!

Recommended fork oil is SAE10,I use SAE 15 in my Xmoto It's a personal thing .
