Brake help

Came home tonight and had to anchor on hard, back brake juddered on stopping. Seems ok on easy braking in traffic n such but tried it again hard just on back and it did it again, front fine and can hear servo. Not up to messing myself but rang a mate to take a look this week, any thoughts on what could be the problem would be greatly appreciated.

ABS kicking in? Unless you've done it, you don't realise just how noticeable the pulsing is compared to a car etc.

Cheers I wondered about that at first but there’s a definite clunk sound and mechanical feel ( if that makes sense) as if sumets not right !!

Think I’m coming round to your way of thinking Wiz, tried a few hard braking (wet road) on way home and def ABS. Feels so primitive but then again I don’t know what I was expecting it to be like never had it before. Will see what happens tomorrow when I turn it off and leave a bit of rubber on the road like the old days!

I think that it will be the ABS kicking in on the back brake. With the brakes being linked the back comes on quite hard with heavy application of the front brake; so that when you press the rear pedal it doesn't take much pressure for the rear ABS to react.

It could well be the rear ABS which is incredibly crude and slow to pulse on/off. I think it's because it doesn't have an ABS ring like the front but uses the wheel to sense the rotation so is much coarser than the front. When I tried it the first time I thought it felt like some thing was falling off
If your not sure turn the ABS off and see if the rear locks-up or the noise goes away, if you see what I mean.

I'm told the front is much better but I've never managed to activate that!
