I got back from a ride to find a small puddle at the rear wheel of my R1100GS, originally thought I had an oil leak but after cleaning it up and inspecting where the leak was coming from it turns out my rear brake hose is leaking.

So now i'm going to change the front hoses aswell as the rear so what hoses do you use/recommend?

thanks,
Stuart.

I think you can get ready made kits off the shelf for the 1100 & 1150GS, it's just the 1150GS Adventure with the slightly longer braided hoses that can be a bit awkward to source.

Check Motorworks website as I'm sure they sell ready to go kits.

Goodridge

Used Goodridge stainless on my 1100 when I had it . Fitted no problem Do them all at the bikes age they will need changing.

Contacted Hel who said they'd be £29.99 per hose but would require me to send in my old hoses to make them up as they have been having problems with the lengths of brake hoses for BMW's.

That works out the same price as anyone else who i've found online so will probably order a set from Goodridge as they seem to have good reviews and have the R1100GS hoses on file.

Unless anyone has any other suggestions?

If Hel are offering made to measure for the same price, why not go with them ?

Yes, HEL; as recommended above by someone who has probably fitted more of these than anyone else around :blast

It's just the hasstle/cost of sending all of the old ones off to be measured thats all!
I have just read another post about them having issues with the hose lengths so I'll try giving them a ring and see if they can take the measurements over the phone.

For peace of mind that the new hoses would match I was happy to send-off the old ones. But then again I didn't have a choice with my model; they weren't available off the shelf.
I still have my old hoses if you want a rear hose as a stop-gap (Ha!). I wouldn't recommend using it long-term. 02 R1150GS ABS EVO brakes; check if it suits yours.

Thanks for the offer but i'm not in a massive rush, i'm going to order a full set tomorrow, i was just asking to see what other people have used.

Did my 1150 last year and have done my 850 since, both with goodridge kits from motorworks. Both fitted just fine, you just need to make sure you order the correct kit.
