Perhaps the few inches of wire from the rear light to the plug is what they mean by "loom" ...
Got the bike back with a new alternator. Told that the "loom" was on back order and they'd be in touch. Was going to try and bodge the bulb contacts but noticed the bulb failed light had gone away - took the bulb out at home anyway - looks like they have replaced the lens and the contacts etc. Couldn't get to speak with a mechanic only the car guy on the desk who didn't seem to know much, so I have no idea what the new loom is for - maybe it's connected with my alternator failing (twice). Hopefully I'll find out when the loom arrives and I can speak with a techie.
