Well, have you looked to see if it is or isn't?
If it isn't.... phew, the bod who followed you mistook your rear light for your brake light.
If it is....
Handguard fouling front brake leaver? The guard can swivel round, catching the lever, sufficient to trip the switch into action.
Front brake switch faulty?
Rear brake light switch out of adjustment or faulty?.... or has a very small stone has wedged itself into the switch mechanism (it happens) meaning the brake lever is slightly depressed, triggering the light into action?
You are dragging your brakes, somehow?
There is a short?
