Brake pad advice

Whilst checking the pad wear on my 1250, it looks like the backing plates on one set of pads have cracks down both edges. I’ve not noticed this previously.
Should I panic? Thoughts please.

Or if you can get a flat blade screwdriver in there just push it along the length of the pad to see if it is just paint or not. If it is paint it will probably chip off as you push the screwdriver across with the shaft at an angle with the blade flat on the edge of the pad
 
Mobile phone images come in handy when inspecting parts you have too normally crane yer back, neck to see. :nod
Most likely old melted copper slip that's generally applied on back of new disc pads to stop them squealing.
 
Look normal to me

Don’t know if it’s burrs from when the back plates are stamped or residue of whatever they bond the friction material on with or something else but I’ve seen it before on brake pads
