Brake pads

i bought the brembos,2 weeks later bought the bm originals, the brembos were noisey and lacked feel.

Have done just over 1,000 miles with my new Brembo brakes. Happy to report no problems. If anything, better than original.

Sintered pads come in at least three grades. Race pads will feel wooden in road use as they have to be fully hot to work properly. However road grade pads on a track would soon be smoking and fading away.

What grade were the EBC pads?

Dunno

They had red back plates

But coming down a wet rocky green lane, 2 weeks ago & having zero brakes, was an eye opener I'd rather not repeat

So they went straight in the scrap bin the next day

Maybe you were sold race pads that could not get hot enough to work properly. There are plenty of options http://ebcbrakes.com/products/brake-type/

EBC redstuff are for performance/fast road use (in their car range anyway)
The yellow are for racing.
