Just got the information directly from the German TV they will look into the issue. They are doing uncovering. In the past about ABS on BMW cars:
"Ausgebremst Kein Auto-Rückruf trotz Defekt SR | 26.10.2004 | 21.55 Uhr"
Which means: No car recall but defect!
Summary: The police of Berlin had problems (crashes) with the ABS on their BMWs, police cars, type E39, in the event of strong braking. It’s really worth reading (if you read German). I have seen this brilliant report on TV on 10/26/2004: BMW did not initiate a recall; they (BMW) blame the police to hush up their accidents. But they (BMW) replaced on 209 police cars the ABS unit on their (BMW) own costs. But officially BMW denies that there were faulty units. Well, it’s the customer’s mistake, you know?
A recall would have been expensive. In Germany there are about 22.000 cars of this kind on the road. These cars are still time bombs in the event of very strong braking! They have still a faulty design on their brakes.
