Brakes locking - non servo 1200gs

I have a 2007 ABS non servo model. Recently I have had a problem with the front brakes, (and it is only the front) applying itself until its fully on. This has happened a few times - at first i thought it was a problem with the front calipers - but that it not the case - also this has happened when I haven't been applying the brakes - i.e. riding along and front brake simply applies itself until it is solid. I fear the worse that it is the ABS unit - any ideas?

Hi , i took the calipers out cleaned them and still the same, even let some fluid out the bleed to get me moving than noticed it was the plastic guard keeping the brake lever on dooooh.

Not so dopey!

I think that we have all done this once! There is not much clearance between guard and lever. I was actually on my way to the dealers to sort out this problem - when I noticed there was no clearance. A slight twist and all was OK.

Thats why i changed my levers to cheap chinese stubbys, never have a probelm now, and never will again.

Thanks for your advice guys, I have checked the handguards and yes it was very slightly touching the brake lever. I don't know if that is the reason as its pis**ng down with rain at the moment.
