Brakes - School Boy Error

Replaced both front brake discs and pads today - went really well.
Then went to top up the brake fluid reservoir as I had let fluid out of the nipples ... found out I have no spare brake fluid plus I can't get the screws off the top of the resevoir. And the screw heads are starting to go.
Should have checked the reservoir first

A light "tap" with an impact driver usually loosens the screws, the fluid I cannot help with?

Tap the cap around the screw as well. It will just be corroded on the countersunk part.

I've been away for a few days but thanks for your tips.
In the end I tapped a screw driver into the heads which gave more grip and I managed to get th screws out OK.
Greased the screws before putting them back in.
