The releasing of brakes over bumps is a characteristic of the braking system and once you get used to it - it shouldn't cause a problem. The first time it happens you get worried that 'my brakes are fooked'.
I'm certainly not SERIOUSLY worried about the brakes re. servo failure. I've had full front brake failure on a Yamaha at 60mph in a built up area - plastic bag caught beteen pad and disc. The lever went back to the bar. Managed to get some rear wheel braking + quick manouvering and I was OK. But that really isn't the point. The point is about risk. The overall risk to you on a bike is mainly dominated by other drivers errors + your error. Mechanical failure, albeit perceived as a serious concern by some people will actually contribute very little to you're overall risk of having an accident. So I'd be much more concerned about the little old lady in her Nissan Micra waiting in the side road - rather than whether my brakes will work should she pull out.
That said - I'd be first to have the Rev2 servos fitted under warrenty.
An interesting question is - how much would you pay for Rev2 servos less likely to fail - £500, £1000, £2000????
