Hi Folks

I need to pick some brains. Just last night riding home i became aware that a little noise i was hearing (a double clicking) only occurred when i used the front brake and within a second of pulling the lever. Because of the general noise and wearing a helmet it is hard to say precisely where it is coming from, but i would say it's coming from under the tank, home for the ABS unit...

I will take a closer look tomorrow when i give the bike its usual clean but I wondered if anyone recognises the symptom i'm describing?

  • 2000 GS with ABS
  • ABS is working normally (can vouch for this as it came in on Wednesday ride home - road surfaces were damp/slimey).
  • I have wondered if the hoses are giving up, which wouldn't entirely surprise me with its age, so causing the ABS unit to get mis-information.
  • I have also wondered if the ABS unit is giving signs of trouble (but it seems to be working?!)

Comments and wisdom needed :)

...in addition. Any hints on good places to go for replacement brake lines (i'm thinking stainless braided).

Thanks!
