Brand new, 2019 R1250GS “unsafe to drive” due to front Calliper leakage

Bought the HP version two weeks ago and after 600 glorious miles it went in for the first service this morning. Three hours later I had to leave on an R800 due to front calliper leakage which deemed the bike unsafe to drive. No parts currently available in the Uk so they don’t know how long it will take.
At the same time another guy, David, in for his first service walks out with exactly the same problem. NO JOKE!
Now what are the chances of that happening??!! Is this an issue BMW are keeping quiet about? Go figure!

PS: Can’t fault the dealer, Motorrad Central, as they have been very helpful and tried their best to help out with a temporary bike until it gets sorted

yep, that's it, Harris brakes are shit, all 1250s on recall - Brembo all the way.

Is it just me ore dose that Seems strange that they go into the dealer without a leak and come out with a leak?

I’m holding judgment at the moment. It’s under warranty and the have given me an R800 with 0 miles. I don’t see how they can benefit out of this given that there is a publicity risk attached

Might have seen you this morning, I was in to pick up my new GSA HP.

Didn't get the bike further than the front door. Engine warning message came up twice during the delivery process. Bike returned to the workshop, and me sent home with a demo.

Wife and kids waiting for me to return home with my nice shiney new 60th birthday present. Disappointed to say the least.

Can't fault Laura and the team at Motorad Central. There was not much more they could do.

After issues getting insurance for the bike (BMW Insurance withdrew cover 2 days ago because they had misquote" me), and now this, I'm hope that the bike isnt jinxed.

Obviously massive meetings will be had in Berlin over the week-end, sort of should we or should we not recall.

At every service Motorrad Central do a full brake check ie calipers off and clean pivot pins, exposed pistons etc, more likely that they are picking up on slight leaks that other less fastidious dealerships mechanics are missing.

Trust them 100%, more likely it is a portent of things to come with cost cutting on the new calipers.
