Sold Brand New R80 G/S Paris Dakar Petrol Tank.

Hi Folks,

I have a genuine brand new unused genuine R80 GS Paris Dakar petrol tank for sale.

I purchased this tank in 2021 from Pidcocks BMW-UK for a project that never materialised.

This tank is in absolutely perfect new condition. It is in its original BMW primer paint and original BMW packaging and both the filla-top aperture and petrol tap apertures still have their unbroken BMW factory seals.

When I purchased this tank from BMW Germany via Pidcocks in Nottingham I was told that this was the very last R80GS Paris Dakar Tank.

I’m aware that there are cheaper copies now available, but this tank is an original BMW unit, it’s beautifully made in strong, thick, heavy gauge high quality steel.

For anyone who is re-building an R80 GS without compromise to a very high standard and is requiring an original tank. This is the tank.

I’m asking £1575.00 which I think is around about what I paid back in 2021.

I’m happy to pack it very carefully for someone wanting to arrange to have it collected at their own risk, however I’d prefer buyer collecting if possible.

Can anyone confirm whether this will fit a R80GS Basic….or are they slightly different?

I know the kalahari tank and g/s Paris Dakar tank look the same ( well they do to me) but I’m unsure if they are the same underneath, and don’t want to spend loads of money only to find it doesn’t fit.

I understand the Kalahari tank has a larger cut out underneath to accommodate the paralever electrics...

Gary at BAMW used to sell a kit to convert the g/s tank to fit onto a paralever. Part of the conversion though involved a bespoke subframe, necessary to enable the g/s seat to fit. No doubt some folks on here can provide more specific info in this respect. I see from some eBay listings that guru Gary is still selling a few bits. I'm sure he'll be happy to share his knowledge if contacted.

If F8GS says it will fit then you can bet your bottom dollar that it will fit.
How far away are you to try it?
Money back if it doesn’t fit my mate, not here to lift anyone’s leg.

No worries Bubb, however I know it will fits because F8GS bought the same tank for his Kalahari at the same time as I bought mine from the same dealer and his fitted okay.
If in doubt best to check out the part numbers or better still talk to guru Garry Burton
