Brekkie on Sunday 23rd October ??

The Four Seasons Hotel is open too but I'm not sure a crowd of scruffy bikers :tosser would be very welcome :)

Feck em, if you have money in your pocket you can go where you like. I seem to recall that there was no problem in Monaghan.

"Food for Thought" sounds pretty good to me though. €7.50 is only £5, pretty cheap if the brekkie is any good. :thumb

I know a wee pub on the route, not far from Carlingford that does great lunches, but Im not sure how early they serve lunch. As far as I know they take €, as do most places in the border area. I will check them out tonight Jockser if you wish. :)

Would need some idea of numbers though. Come on Tossers, get your acts together.

Not sure if i will be working that day or not will let you know as soon as i can :)

Tell Bobby I said you need a bank :D

Jockser, if it serves food, it'll do. I'm not fussy......... as my ever-expanding waist proves. But I do like the idea of disturbing any snotty punters at the Four Seasons ;)

The guy in F.F.T. said it included tea, toast, juice, etc - 'no extra charges' :clap

But it might be no harm if Aidan could check out the other place :thumb
although I hate leaving my hard earned north of the border :D :D

I reckon we have 10 confirmed - myself & 2 mates, Big Fella & 2 (?) mates, Aidan, Sugarcube (& Emma ?), Rayzor & Wizard with the possibility of Mzokk, Oatsy & Shuck joining us

Anyone else thinking of coming who would want morning nosebag ?

Wizard - I've seen you eat & its not a pretty sight :barf so I certainly wouldn't inflict you on the sensitive souls in the Four Seasons :dabone

Only because you shovelled yours down with both hands and had nothing to do for 20 minutes except watch the rest of us use the cutlery :dabone :tosser

I think it would be best to go for FFT Jockser.

Given that you would like a wee run into HG in Belfast, we would need to have the brekkie then head off fairly promptly on the run so that you are not travelling too late on Sunday evening as you will probably have the longest run home.

Provisional route is; Carlingford, Black Mountain (especially for Sugarcube), a run down alongside Camlough Lake, Carrickatuke (where we were heading the day of Errols mishap), Markethill, Scarva, Banbridge, Donaghcloney, Magheralin then into Moira for a blast up the M1 to HG.

If anyone knows a good twisty road from Banbridge towards Belfast please make a suggestion.

Weather forecast is looking pretty good, lets hope it holds for Sunday.

We were too poor for that cutlery stuff when I was growing up & as one of 27  siblings if ya didn't get stuck in you starved :(

Do I look to you like someone who didn't get more than their fair share :P

On to more serious matters - food on Sunday (theres no fcuking smilie for stuffing your face :( ) : Spoke to my mate ( notice I didn't say 'one of my mates - he's me only one ;) ) Ron earlier & he was in Food for Thought last Sunday & he reckons its a top spot for a fry :D :D

So if Aidans place doesn't do brekkie I'll book F.F.T. tomorrow - unless there are any objections or viable alternatives :)

Aidan - just re-read your post & realised you said 'early lunch' - but I for one will need sustenance b4 that - have to keep up me strength ;) & theres sod all chance of getting anything here b4 I leave - except maybe 'cold shoulder :D :D

Bugger - just spent 15 mins typing ( I'm a one finger merchant ) & then I see Aidans post :o

Route sounds great :clap but HG isn't imperative - it was just a thought.

If it interferes with planning a good run ignore it.

As we'll probably just be tearing down the motorway to home it don't matter if its late. I don't expect to get home b4 dark :drackula

Will book F.F.T. tomorrow afternoon for 10 - unless ya shout soon only the people listed earlier will be included :D :D

OK guys - Food For Thought booked for 10 peeps at 09.30 on Sunday :)

Think you'd be allowed in from about 09.00 if you're early - just don't touch my grub :nono

We're all carnivores aren't we ? Told them we had no requirement for vegetarian brekkie - wonder what the hell ya get in a vegie brekkie

Forecast looking good (if you can believe them ;) ) here :http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/ukweather/nireland/#no_url
(click the single right hand arrow to move to Sunday - I know most of youse are technical genius' - or should that be geniei - but I'm not the only numpty here, am I :o )

I'm looking forward to the run and the craic on Sunday. May even have "herself" pillion. Depends on the weather though, Mandy just doesn't do cold. :mmmm

I should be there just before 9-30 Jockser after I have finished my shopping. ;)

It would be good to meet Mandy - she must be a 'mad wan' to put up with you :D

I'll phone ya on the way up & ya can have the grub ready when we get there :thumb

So have we any final arrangements for the spin?? i'll be heading from drogheda what's your route guys???

Rayzor, meet at "Food For Thought" in Carlingford at 9am for breakfast at 9-30am then the run as above to Hein Gericke in Belfast.

The Big Fella will be coming up from Drogheda also, maybe you can meet up with him.

Hope to see you there. :thumb

brekkie

what time anyone departing from up north?

When would you be expecting to be back to Belfast? (guess) Not much point in me leaving the run early since it'll come past my door.

Could probably get bail for a bit as I'm doing a bit of diy.

Barry.

Hi Barry,

Some of the guys were talking about meeting at Sprucefield at around 8am IIRC and running down the back roads as far as Newry.

I will be going straight from the house to Jonesboro for the cheap smokes then over the mountain into Omeath and on down into Carlingford for the brekkie.

If we leave Carlingford at say 11am, we should be passing through Moira somewhere around 2pm give or take 15 mins.

Keep at that DIY right up until Saturday night, bound to be worth a Sunday morning pass-out.

Aidan

Just had a look on the Met Office site............. Link here

The five day forecast does not look too good for Sunday with light showers predicted.

Ah well, what the feck.

My apologies men for getting you's excited but i will not be going...the old bike insurance runs out on friday so that'll be it parked up for the winter i thinks.....next time maybe.... :( :spitfire :mcgun

Carlingford for 9.00am

I should be there for that time.Heard no word from the rest of the lads, though its early days still where they are concerned.
Looking forward to it no matter the weather.
Will h/g be open?

Well BF,

Yes, HG open from either noon or 1pm on Sunday up until 5pm IIRC.

See you Sunday big man.

Rayzor - sorry to hear that - maybe next time - whats insurance anyway ;)

Big Fella - we'll be hitting Drogheda about 08.30 & plan to stop at the slip road beside the bridge (old main road) if ya wanna meet us there & ride up together :thumb

For those of youse coming from other parts the directions to the restaurant are : When you arrive at Carlingford on the coast road turn in to the town and follow the one way system right through the centre and almost out the other side. There is a brown Bord Failte sign pointing the way to the restaurant. F.F.T. on the left, park on the street outside :D

The forecast for today wasn't good but its a cracking day. Sunday was given as ok but now theres rain :( WTF - we'll have a bit of a spin anyway :clap

Drogheda

Jockser

Things might be a bit hectic bike wise sunday morning in Drogheda.A lot of the local boys(road race fans) are going out on a run in aid of Richard Britten's family. Not sure where they are heading,i heard Enniskillen, and i think they are meeting around there.
If you want i could meet ye north of Drogheda on the old main rd.

Aidan

Lookin forward to a good spin, its been ages since i was out.I think the last time was when Sugarcube had the mishap. How long is that?
