Looking for new rubber soon; have been pretty happy with Bridgestone Battlewings up to now. Bridgestone reckon that the Battlewings are not now available for the GS and are recommending the A40. Not heard much about them; anyone used them?

I put them on my l/c GSA. Don't know whether it was me or the tyers but it took 600 miles before I had any confidence in them. JJH

What were you using before?

I had them put onto my 2013 GS LC using the recent voucher scheme, so £135 for the pair, fitted.

I like them. I have had no issues with them and they certainly are more than a atch for my riding, both one and two up

I would say, however, that I am aware of my tyre noise coming up from the front tyre

I fitted them to my TC Triple Black before this years European trip (3K /12days).
Found them slightly squirrely for the forst 2-3 days but it was v wet.
Pretty good in both wet and dry altho occasionally squirrely over worn overbanding on the B500.
Felt quite secure on Passes. Seem to be wearing quite well.
Had Annakee2s before.

I'm on my second set and have a third pair stashed in my garage.
I'm very happy with them as are the two friends who also are on their second set.

They are def lasting longer than the many sets of Tourances I've run in the past. Very good grip in the wet and dry.
Stiff side walls on them keep them stable and suit the Adventure style bikes.

When I'm finished with my third set I will be going for the same again.

Another vote for them here. Changed my horrible OEM Anakee 3's at 2000 miles and they transformed the bike. Had a couple of slides that they recovered well from in very wet weather in Luxembourg but that was more the fault of my ham fisted use of the throttle than the tyres, otherwise they feel very secure in the wet and dry. Recommended, especially considering you can pick a pair up for less than £200.

Just had Dunlop Road Smart 111 fitted last week and have covered a few hundred miles. Think the last Dunlop I bought was a TT100!
Would rate them better than the Tourance Next or the Michelin PR 4 Trail fitted before.
Was throwing it around some tight roads across the middle of Ireland in the wet and dry and found them very confidence inspiring.
They claim a 10% increase in mileage, too.
Recommended.

Could go without the slides thanks. JJH

Ok just to set the record right I have about 8-900 miles up on these tyers and I'm now happy with them. It took a long time and as I said in a earlier post I can't really say wheater it was me or the tyers. I would say a combination of both. Tyers settling down and me overreacting. JJH

Changed my tyres recently from battle wings to the A40's and love them. Same as the battle wings.

Got PR 4's on my bike at the moment, might try these as my back tyre is starting to square off.

just done 5k ( 4k on one trip) on the A40s ..it could be me but im not impressed, i like riding in the wet, i think its a buzz keeping everything super smooth while still making good progress, any hint of a white line felt like ice and felt a lot different to the Anakees, i lost the front a few times. for me, not very confidence inspiring.

Handy to know, looking for new boots.

They are not as bad as they were and I was beginning to think it was me. But in the wet I don't like the skittish feeling from the front. You know when you ride over a manhole cover and she gives a little slide. It's like that without the manhole. JJH

 I'm after a good tyre to last me through my winter commute...

I can't find a fault with the Avon Trailriders. I ride in all conditions and on Friday, rode the width of Ireland in what can only be described as weather from hell.
Not a bother on the Avons.
