Last year I was mainly wearing cheap safety glasses, this year I will be wearing ......

........insulating tape.

I suffer from low sun on both commutes:cool: , instead of the £200 Tour X try 10 mm tape on the bottom of your visor - it makes a 50 mm peak (more if you want 2 strips) and does not significantly reduce vision. Simply flip up and presto instant peak.:thumb2

I have also put a strip on the top of the visor which is a good compromise as well when riding visor down. Ok its starting to make me look like a Racoon... :gringo

Legal DisclaimerWarning - DO NOT TOTALLY BLANK OUT THE VISOR, it can seriously impede your judgement and riding skill..... :ymca

Sun screen

I dont think you face shouild be that colour, or have you got a pink tinted visor?.
dave gs.
Seriously the best weay to get a sun stript is to go to a car accessory shop and buy one for a car windscreen. It is cheap, comes in a roll and is easily cut.
There will be enough for about 100 visors. And it comes off ok with no marks left on visor.

Sun visors

BUY one:eek: !!!!! have you any idea how much that offends......

Can you get small letters on them - 'if you can read this I need an ambulance' or 'Watch out I may have someone riding behind me:ymca '

Or, there's the Super-Visor.....

I've used electrical insulating tape for years. AVaible from 99p for miles of it and comes in colours to suit your helmet or bike colour.

If you steal it it's free!

Ever tried this or did you just happen across it ?? Although ISTR you're a bit of a Tour X fan aren't you ??

No, yes and yes. In that order.....:) Someone posted about it over on Adv Rider months ago. I tried to find it again today for this thread and couldn't so I posted a thread there asking about it and a very nice man came up with the link.

I like it because it's very close to what I used to wear back in the early 80's. At that time, I had a Griffin Clubman HP with the vented visor which had studs on it to allow the attachment of a peak. So, I duly attached a translucent yellow peak to mine.

Tried one of these on a system 5 visor. Impossible to fit perfectly flat because of the curvature of the visor.

Tried PVC tape once on a system 4 visor - tried to re-position it a week later and off came the hard coating on the outside of the visor, bummer. Anyone else suffered this? Maybe I used the wrong tape.

BTW with car sun screens, on bike visors, you'll find they don't like wet, DAMHIK.

***Maybe I used the wrong tape***

No the visors are crap i have had loads, i think it's the rain that scratches them:augie
