I have been looking for various ways in which to support the local air ambulance, if only to pay them back something towards the expense I put them to in November when they scraped me off the road.

This is one of my ideas - a road ride you can take part in through the year, visiting some or all of the National Parks of Britain. If nothing else may be a good reason to get out more, and you can start it now!

Details are here

Many thanks to all those who have supported this, now raised just over £1500 for the air ambulance. :thumb2

Thanks to those who supported this ride and hopefully enjoyed visiting soem of our national parks. By the end of the year 80 riders had entered, making over 600 visits to parks and helping to raise £2395 for the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance. :beerjug:

A new challenge for 2010 is the Battlefields Ride - visit any from a list of fifteen hstoric sites of battles in Britain. Details can be found on my website at http://www.thegrimrider.com and you can start anytime after January 1st. :thumb2

Now in its fourth year, 2012's charity ride is the Sculpture Trail and involves visiting certain prominent pieces of public art around Britain and Ireland. Details on my website at www.thegrimrider.com. Just for this year there is also an Olympic 1000 Ride - thousand miles visiting eight Olympic landmarks around the country.

Many thanks to those who have continued to support this and raise money for the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, now nearing £6000. :beerjug:

The fifth year's charity ride is the Motorcycle History Trail - details can be found here. Thanks to all those who continue to support this :beerjug:
