I got stuck in Roscoff last Thursday 13th with a flash strike. Sat on the Tarmac for over 2 hours before being turned away. Not one announcement or phone call from ferry service. Told sailing was cancelled by third party. B&B for night and sailed next evening eventually. Can't claim anything back.

Doesn't your travel insurance pay out for accommodation etc?
Al
just got home from my trip to spain
turned up for my return sailing on thursday afternoon around 12.30 at santander, checked in, waited in the loading lane with everyone else and when we were due to load brittany ferry officials gave everyone a notice that there was a meeting on the boat to try and resolve industrial action. we were left waiting another 2 hours in the baking sun until around 4.30 we were given the news the ferry was cancelled and no hope of another for at least a week.
no other option but to set off and ride home. lots of very angry people.
to top it off it absolutely pissed down all day friday, kept meeting lots of very wet and cold brits on there way home at service stations.
got the tunnel this morning for the first time as i had had enough of ferries and was a very pleasant and hassle free experience, thanks dellis for booking it for me and saving me a few quid.
anyway all added to the adventure i suppose
Was your sailing to Plymouth ?
