Brittany Ferries price hike

p and o withdrew their service to bilbao last year[not financially viable they said] so brittany ferries now have a monopoly.

i've got to be honnest i'd prefer to ride down though france, however time is not on my side, so i pay the premium to be where i want to make the most of the limited time i get off work. its cost me £510 return with large cabins bank holl august. i had to phone to use the discount code i obtained at the nec m/c show. i think the code was only valid untill the end of december 2011.

Think we got lucky, 6 of us going Santander out, Bilbao back, May 2nd/9th, £240 each booked mid December. What I didn't realise is the tour companies get places allocated at a reduced rate, that might just result in an increase for the independent traveller?

Yesterday, Brittany Ferries gave me price for 8 bikes x2 inner cabins, Plymouth/Santander return on 17th June return10 days later.£285 each! Not a bad deal

Ferry Costs and Bike Numbers

They have gone up a fair bit. Just booked 3 bikes and a 4 berth cain - Portsmouth / Santander and return for £705. £235 a head, Mid May- still dont think its too bad. Having said that, just took the car and 4 people to France for £150 return.

Numbers wise - 40 bikes is all they will take - even if the rest of the car deck is empty - book early!

Until you find out the overnight Hull - Zeebrugge was £125 return, Brittany are hiking it right up. Hopefully, P&O will reopen the route before I need to go that way again

Hull-Zeebrugge, outbound 21 May – Rotterdam-Hull return 26 May, 4 people, 2x two berth outside cabins, 3 bikes, £125 each from
Nutt Travel.

Forgot to mention the Rotterdam return, it was forced on us because of availability, its only 30 miles further to Rotterdam over Zeebrugge on our return (Col Du Bussang). The Rotterdam-Hull sailing is handily a little later in the evening at 21:00 (arrive for ferry no later than 19:30...)

It was about £170 each 10 years ago, and I thought that was a reasonable deal then

Yep. Now doing the Hull - Zeebrugge route. Sport Travel Solutions gave me a good price for a return crossing too. Other change is that we are now going to Sicily, not Spain, but hey -ho!

Hull Rotterdam

4 of us are booked on the Hull Rotterdam ferry in July. Website price was £270 each return. So we rang them and the nice lady gave us a price of £114 each return. Thus resulting a saving of lots of beer and food tokens which we will probably use on the ferry. Not a bad saving for one phone call.
