Yikes !!! How did you manage that ?

Had the pannier off the bike didnt quite have the lock retracted when I 'gently' pushed the handle down :goof

Stef - I broke system top box lock a couple of weeks ago. all parts easily obtained through main dealer- may even be relatively cheap (and easier to take to them), as someone advised me.

I am waiting for handle but have to figure out how it goes back together after I found it easy to dismantle  ! Anyone got a similar link to the above for a topbox?

Glad to know theres more than one ham fisted clod on this site :D I'll phone the dealer tomorrow (Motorad Cental closed on a monday) to get a price.

Steph, the sort of thing you only do once.....I've done it twice.
Replacement kit about £24 from Motorworks. Takes about 30 mins
You'll need some superglue and a pop rivet gun but its all fairly simple.
All instructions included in the kit.

Whats the superglue for? ... I just use a rivet gun and the normal 15 fingers...

Cheers, i'll give them a bell and order a kit :thumb

Halfords do a set of 4 locks for the Thule lockable roof rack system and they look identical to the locks in the system panniers and there only £9.

maybe of help to somebody.

cheers

Superglue to reposition plastic retaining lugs back into the lock. Some times you can get them out without them loosening but invarably they come off.
Oh you'll also need a drill to remove heads from the existing rivets.
Steph. I work away from home during the week but if you need a hand PM me and you can come over some weekend and we'll get it done.
