On the basis that this has no extended warranty and a FBMWSH have you asked the dealer to request a Goodwill Contribution from BMW?

Consumer Rights Act 2015 would be worth a look.

I just want to know if any else has had this sort of problem, i need to know if this is common as i do not want to be 250 miles above the arctic circle and this could happen again with some other module

First time I've read of it today........

Are you talking about the ZFE module or the main ECU?

If its the ZFE, did you get it back from the dealer??

Mart

It is not the main ecu as it was still running ok, I have not yet been to get my bike i think they are waiting for the part.I think it is the

zfe module I was going to ask for it to see if water had got in, on looking on bmw suppliers it looks like it has been upgraded, maybe

a problems with early ones,

Also the part is exchange up to the 2016 models.

update

Dealer just rang, it is the ZFE module £420 all in.. Hope this is a one off.:eyebrow

Depending on the bikes mileage and service history surely your dealer should be putting in a goodwill claim into BMW re this matter .

The bike is a 2014 with 35000 miles on so it is not worth asking.....

I am more concerned that it is going to be reliable in the future.....:nenau

It could have been a lot more, I am just glad it does not have ESA.

You have to accept these costs when your bike gets on a bit. :augie

If thats not an exchange price, and you can have the part back,

can you let me know what level & part number it is please

(its on a label on the back)
