On the accessory plug am I right in assuming the brown wire is the neutral and live is red. /green
thanks

On a 2012 RT, the red/green wire to the rear power socket is a "switched live", used this to power an autocom & sat. nav., therefore, the brown is earth.

That is what I found. I'm using the red/green to trigger a PDM60 on my 2014 GSA WC.

Thanks guys,I intend to power my cree Led.s from it....I will have to learn about a multi meter. I have one somewhere but only used it to check fuses!

VB, when you say - a CREE LED, I suppose you mean this ...

Got it on my bike as well fixed on a BMW light holder. IMHO I think the power is best taken via a fusebox else it may not play ball with the CANBUS. I have a PDM 60 and the trigger wire I use for the PDM is the 4th wire at the bottom (if you can see it from this picture).

When you say the accessory plug, do you mean the one on the dash? mmm ... that seems to be a good idea as these guys do not draw much power.

Well not knowing how to use a multimeter to measure voltage and determine polarity means you have limited understanding of electrics, and therefore is a stong indicator that you shouldn't be wiring in accessories or fiddling....

Read up & get the knowledge, or get someone else to do it.

Hint: Get any battery, set multimeter to Volts (DC), measure voltage across terminals. Swap the wires from multimeter around. Note the difference in the reading. From this you will learn how to identify which terminal is +ve and which is -ve.

Oh and whilst you are at it, read up on fuses, understand how important they are, and where they should be located etc.

Yes. The crees only take 0.66 amps each..
found wiring diagram from hex gs...earth is brow n

Thanks Jim, will post a few pictures when i have fitted them, going to use a SWMotech lighting bar

Ha Ha, yes. I went down the fused relay route from the battery, tapping off the Ancillary equipment live for my switched live.
