Round 'n' round in circles.........
In response to the several enquires that I have received over the last few months, the BTBR light fitting service is back in full swing again!

Sadly, this service is only available to the 1150 and NOT the 1200, sorry!!!

Whilst I am no longer able to supply lights I can direct to a man that can!

The cost of fitting and wiring it all together is just £100, which breaking that down is £75 labour costs and roughly £25 for the materials that are required to make up the bespoke loom that I fabricate in advance of the day.

It is also common practice to have the lights, lightbar and Autoswitch sent directly to me so that I can prewire and assembly it all in advance of the fitment date.

It normally takes me about 3 hours to complete the installation on the bike and roughly 3 hours prior to that making up the loom and prewiring all the lights & Autoswitch etc. You can see that it is not a quick fitment, as a lot of time and attention to detail is made.

So how does it all work then?

Dip Beam

The 5NB Autoswitch and the first of the two relays are both mounted inside the bikes main fuse compartment. The Autoswitch is then wired into the bikes indicator circuit. The Hella Mirco DE’s are then used as backup lighting to the bikes very poor dip beam. To activate the Micro DE’s on, simply depress and hold the indicator cancel button for longer than 0.8 sec, an LED that is mounted on the dashboard will then flash once this time has elapsed. When the indicator button is then released, the Micro DE’s will remain on and the LED will then constantly shine green, as an indication that the auxiliary lights are now illuminated. To switch them off, simply repeat the afore mentioned operation.
As a precaution and to aid the bikes starting especially in cold weather, if the bikes ignition is switched off with the Micro DE’s still switched on, it will reset the Autoswitch to the ‘off’ position.
It is a completely separate electrical circuit to the bikes OE lights, therefore on older GS’s that have an on/off headlight switch, it is possible to have the Micro DE’s on and can used as running lights without the necessity to switch the bikes lights on.

Main Beam

The second of the relays is mounted at the rear of the instrument panel; a pick up feed is taken from the bikes main beam circuit. Therefore, when either the main beam or the flash is operated, the FF50’s will be illuminated. Hence there is no need for a separate switch. They cannot be switched off independently of the bikes main beam, but then again why would you want to anyway?

All the cables used in my bespoke loom are double protected with PVC sleeving and have 10 amp in-line fuses direct from the battery to protect both the auxiliary lighting circuits. All of the connections that are made into the bikes main electrical harness are soldered joints that are then protected with Self-Amalgamating tape.
The connections used on all the lights are IP67 rated or in lay mans terms, water resistant to a submerged depth of 1 metre and for duration of twenty minutes!!!
Finally, only one 1.5mm hole is drilled for the whole of the installation, and that is behind the instrument panel to secure the second relay.
The only day that I do fitments is a Saturday and dates tend to get booked well in advance so you need to give me as much notice as possible please?

I would require a small deposit (£25) in order to secure your booking as sadly I have been let down in the past.

Of course you can supply your own lights or source them from elsewhere, all that I ask is that I have them in advance so that I can pre wire them.

Any further questions then please feel to ask away, [email protected] or 07761 786828

You are now that little bit closer to having your bike look like this……………

It has been said a thousand times before, they are brilliant.

This will be your best mod ever.

Alan will let you see the road again.

Top quality lights, bar, loom and fitting service..

Go on you know you want IT

Oh i nearly forgot, endless teas and sandwiches..

I'll second that. The quality and attention to detail mean that this really is a bargin. The difference between the standard lights and the BTBR setup really has to be seen to be believed (no pun intended...well maybe a bit). Dark country lanes now hold no fear!

Top set up, top bloke! :thumb

Can I have my fiver now?

Light Service

Are you sure you don't want to use my 1200 as a guinea pig, no charge to you of course! I will even supply all the parts!

Just been out to the darkness of the Hampshire / Wiltshire borders. BLISS.But, I must get off my arse and do the bespoke adjustment of the main beam.Got to be boring here, and say how good BTBRs work is. :thumb

Don't do it!

He just wants to play with your bike because he hasn't got one himself.

Fitting lights is just the start of it. Next thing you know he'll be banging on your door on a Sunday morning and offering to clean your bike.

Let him in and you've lost control of your garage, he'll be sorting your tool box out before you can say Jack Flash :D

No feckin' way, its a pound a cup, plus the sausages are £2.50 each and the bread is .50p a slice and if you want sauce, well thats extra as well.

And theres more, I also operate a "Pay as u Pee" scheme, its 50p ago, but you can opt for the two for one special offer at just 75p. (Subject to normal terms and conditions)
