I do, or should say have done, 1100's in the past.

The "problem" is that my loom is really made to fit the 1150, and while it does fit the 1100, it does not fit as well as I would like to.

Although and to be 100% honest, you would not notice, it just me being OTT and picky.

Not sure if that answers your question ir not.

Hmmm...only a short trip up from Brizzle when the time comes...

Goddamit... haven't even got a GS yet and I'm planning improvements/additions/extra expense!!

V impressed with the set up - sounds like a really professional job. Having a crap headlight for the past 5 years on current bike, I can sympathise with the need for the upgrade on the GS... Don't think a lightbar etc would look quite right on a sports bike though! Extra bright bulbs the only route I could take (without major mods to the headlight unit).

I don't supply the lights, bar and switch?

But mail me direct about the lights and I can put you in touch with some that can.

MiGSel or Nippy Norman for the light bar (dependant on which sort you require) and Nippy Norman again for the Autoswitch.

But as a rough guide I think that the prices are something like, £45 lightbar, £100 for two sets of lights (FF50 & Micro DE's) and £15 for the Autoswitch.

I dont actually.....

But every box of Hella lights comes with a basic circuit diagram that can be used for what application you like, the circuit will always be the same . The relay only has four connections that you need to make:-

Feed in - live feed from the battery.
Feed out - switched feed to the lights.
Signal wire - feed (white) wire from the back of the OE main beam headlight
Earth - goes to errrrr.....earth!

And thats it.........thats all there is to it?

Knowing were to run all the cables and where to fix the relays is the trick.

The dipped beam is the worst one to do, see here

Just a BIG word of thanks for your assistance re sourcing and fitting lights to my GSA. I duly purchased them from you recommended vendor and passed on your details Your instructions, I printed, were invaluable

I tried them out this evening and what a difference, I still need to make a few adjustments to the dipped beams (DE's) I note that you suggest having them point slightly outward? I had mine pointing slightly inward but find they give ample light outwards but could stll do with more light to the centre distance. As the standard light is very cut off in the middle is there any way I can improve it centrally or will turning the DE's outwards help?

I also read somewhere that turning the dipped beam lense may help? any idea how this done?

No problems, and thanks for the feedback.

Personally, I would leave the headlight as it is. But you do want to rotate it then remove the screen and the silver panel

If you look at the back of the headlight you will see a 4mm (maybe 5mm) Allen screw. Undo this screw and rotate the unit till it comes to the other stop.

NOTE
I think that there is a Allen screw on the bottom as well, but you "should" be able to rotate without undoing it if you are lucky. A word of caution, just be careful when rotating it cause it is very easy to break the little plastic lugs off.
You will understand it when you are looking at it.

As for the DE's I messed about the position and again IMHO I found that they worked better facing a few degrees outwards.

That said I did have the PIAA Extreme White bulbs fitted in them. If you need that bit extra light on dipped, you might want to consider a pair of these in the DE's?
