Bucking the trend, has anyone ever gone back in years?!

I'm keeping my 2000 GS, original owner, despite my having bought a 2018 GS in November, so I have it in case the 2018 turns out to have unfixable, intolerable problems (seems like an ever-present danger these days), and I wind up deciding to dump the 2018 and just continue to enjoy the 2000.

My first Bmw was 1150 gs loved it since then I have 1200 gsa and believe it or not 4 watercooled starting with 2014 and now 2018 1200 rallye gsa great bike lots of tecno, I have just purchased 1150 gsa so going back old school , have had complete respay, black widow de-cat exhaust and stage 10 gs John chip don’t think I will have too much problem keeping up with 1200 bikes , have an old 800rt great fun for a steady ride, good thing with the older bikes is you can service them yourself no need to plug into Bmw computers, go old school have fun.

Ps 1200 rallye is up for sale I,m done with the new stuff

Amazing

Just something I have been mulling over for a while now. ( probably age related!)

I currently have a 2013 lc and am not really seeing the benefits in shelling out more dough for newer versions, especially as mine only has 22000kms on the engine.

What is really grabbing my attention is reverting to a R1150GSA. I never had one, love the old school looks and I reckon you'd be the one turning heads these days. Not to mention reliability, fixability and future classic status.

So, has anyone ever gone the other way??!

yes ive done exactly that Ive had 3 from new GS bikes a 13, 14, and 16 in 15 I had the XR and have just sold my 17 1000R, ive brought a 2008 K1200R sport (see show us your K bike section) and I love it it has only done 13K and rides like new, but now im not worried about the depreciation and with the money saved I brought nyself a 4 wheeled toy a 3.0 1 series coupe. so now have the best of both worlds rain or shine.
