Buggered old geezer does France...

Actually...this mornings forecast is sightly more cheery than last nights. Gales look to be blowing through, so my thinking is to delay the ...did I mention complimentary...breakfast until sea area Dover, where the storm will have blown north. Life is never easy is it?

At least I'm not lying in my festering pit....double bed...no bunks here....hoping my expensive piece of kraut hardware hasn't fallen over in the bowels of the ship. That, of course, is one of the biggest bonuses.....a Volvo is far less inclined to fall over at junctions etc, and I take considerably less interest in cambers holes etc at such spots.
Despite the shipping forecast, the weather isn't too bad...sun streaming in between scudding clouds over a lumpy grey sea. Wow...poetry....

We used to reinsure loads of brand new Volvo cars and cars being shipped in huge car transport ships from Gothenburg. There was often damage, when supposedly stable vehicles ‘hopped about’ in rough weather. Endless debates about whether the vehicles should be chained down or whether the fitting of the chains would cause more damage. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

You're not helping....it's quite chunky now...

The navy hymn... "For Those in Peril on the Sea" :barf

I hope your breakfast goes down well.

A car is an excellent way to move about. No wonder they caught on as they did.
The Prince of Sarcness strikes again! :D

On the way back Gerry, you might like to treat the present missus to a visit to the Barbour factory shop? it's just on the other side of the Tyne Tunnel (pay online within 24hrs of using). We popped in on the way back from Germany ... :( but it made her nibs' day!

Well....
'This is the captain speaking. As you can see we are experiencing bad weather. The low pressure has arrived earlier than expected. Owing to the weather the port of Amsterdam has suspended operations. I will let you know as soon as I know more'
Marvellous.
No fear of breakfast as yet...can't stand let alone walk!
Boat just marking time off Dutch coast..

Well that's a new one...bearing in mind we should have docked at 1015...
'This is the captain speaking. The latest news is that a pilot will be arriving by helicopter at 1145. When he is on board we will be changing course and making for the breakwater at Ijmuiden. Apologies etc etc...'

My mate is repairing a Volvo (dunno which model, fairly new though) .... £1,800 for a headlight. The firm that makes them went 'belly up' waiting three months for a replacement :blast
