Buggered old geezer does France...

The Morvan National Park is home to some lovely lakes....obviously, judging by the fishers camped on their shores, home to magnificent fishes. Most of these lakes are artificially dammed to increase their size, presumably to supply water.20230707_124811.jpg

And our circuit is completed passing through Quarre les Tombes, back to the Cousin valley and our temporary home.
Oeuf parfait....the perfect egg....followed by truite...

Passed lots of decent hotels, I guess this is a holiday area, still empty, hardly anyone about.
They need to boost numbers....oh wait a minute, it seems folk don't want to stay here, preferring to continue their journey north...wonder why, when everybody knows how awful the UK is....

Quarre les Tombes, is a nice village to stay in. ChasMill is there this evening.

Looked thoroughly charming...the village, not Chasmill, although I'm sure he is equally charming.
Obviously a place for french motards to enjoy, but the roads are to be enjoyed, not sped through scraping pegs on every corner. A lovely bit of France indeed.

Quarre les Tombes has, around its village square, just about everything you need. A bar / cafe, two hotels, a chemist, bank, small co-op shop, church and, just around the corner, a 24/7 two pump petrol station.

When I was young, I enjoyed scraping pegs and getting knee down, now I‘m older I know better and enjoy the experiences, but I also respect the young guys, after all I was one myself once, such is life 👍

Today we move on, through the Morvan, and down in the Massif Central, the la d of the puys. Hoping not to conflict too much with the insanity that is the Tour de France. We've managed to bump into them nearly every French trip....it seems to be a very important part of French life..bods in campers for days before hand waiting for a momentary glimpse of their lycra clad heros.
In the meantime we leave here hoping our hosts are saving up for a new roof..20230707_092306.jpg

Thanks...we are not far away in Murol....good to know.
A very enjoyable run through the Morvan, Corbigny, which is delightful, across the infant Loire, and into the Auvergne. Some amazing sights en route..20230708_103245.jpg
