The build date and registration dates can be very different for various reasons and can cause some confusion.
i.e If a September 1999 build is registered on January 1st 2000, it becomes a year 2000 bike for UK records.
The only problem comes when exporting from the UK as everyone else on the planet goes on build date so the bike is suddenly a 1999 bike and a year older and has less value
