It would have been very hard to do what I did in MRA. I did try but gave up.
The key to my planning was to have all my Templar site waypoints visible on the map at the same time, and thus be able to create the routes between them.
This isn’t possible in MRA, because you have to zoom right in to see them. In BC it’s easy to view,as I did, all of the waypoints in Spain and Portugal and split them out as needed. In Basecamp you can move the “detail” slider to just see the waypoints without clutter too.
Once the rough routes are created then they can be fine tuned, and the MRA method of always adding a new waypoint at the end is irritating, as is the fact it sticks a new waypoint in whenever you touch the screen. In BC just insert the new waypoint wherever you like, or drag.
Plus in BC I can easily put all of the route(s) and the associated waypoints in a single folder to view it independently of any other data, and export that as 1 gpx.
But, although as Wapping said, no iPad version makes it not very amenable to use on the road, fact is there’s a lot of stuff it does that is much harder in MRA. I hope I don’t need to make many changes on the road, but if I do I’ll use MRA, and I don’t have that option with BC.
And don’t get me started on tracks!
