Bulk export from MRA

It would have been very hard to do what I did in MRA. I did try but gave up.

The key to my planning was to have all my Templar site waypoints visible on the map at the same time, and thus be able to create the routes between them.

This isn’t possible in MRA, because you have to zoom right in to see them. In BC it’s easy to view,as I did, all of the waypoints in Spain and Portugal and split them out as needed. In Basecamp you can move the “detail” slider to just see the waypoints without clutter too.

Once the rough routes are created then they can be fine tuned, and the MRA method of always adding a new waypoint at the end is irritating, as is the fact it sticks a new waypoint in whenever you touch the screen. In BC just insert the new waypoint wherever you like, or drag.

Plus in BC I can easily put all of the route(s) and the associated waypoints in a single folder to view it independently of any other data, and export that as 1 gpx.

But, although as Wapping said, no iPad version makes it not very amenable to use on the road, fact is there’s a lot of stuff it does that is much harder in MRA. I hope I don’t need to make many changes on the road, but if I do I’ll use MRA, and I don’t have that option with BC.

And don’t get me started on tracks!

I've had a play in MRA to see if something similar is doable.

If you add your own POI's they are visible from a more elevated view - wide out and close in. You can also import your own group of POI's, or a route containing them under the Library>Add function. However this means in order to view them you do have to zoom back in to a 5KM view point.

This option prevents that, if you’re talking about the web planner.

I did import them as POI’s, but it doesn’t list all the individual POI’s - just the GPX file name, so the only way you know what poi’s you have is to view them on the map, at the zoomed in level.

Apparently there is an update to poi/waypoint management coming.
