Bum ache!!!

Just did a 1000 mile round trip from essex up to aberdeen and then down again , the bike did not miss a beat !!!

But I had the worse ass pain I ever had . My bum went numb every 20 minutes so I had to stand up ...

Were can I get a comfy new seat for the Gs ???

ANyways If you have your ways up to scotland please dont miss the Malt whiskey district it was absoluty bloody amazing

The best biking roads I have seen in UK , really dramatic sceneary plus loads of distillieries .

Sergent Seat

Travelled from the Highlands to London last month awful weather, [petrol and comfort stops only] no pain and I've got dodgy back and hips.

The Best after market item I've bought, well worth every penny.

When I used BMW fitted seat, same problem encounted as you.

I had the same problem went to the local car boot sale found a sheepskin rug paid £2.00 for it cut it up made a seat cover for my 1200 and one for my mates 1150ADV problem solved

There are lots of threads on this and I`d always go for the Airhawk.

Before you outlay a load of dosh on the Airhawk, try a sheepskin which is cheap and may make all the difference, Sheepskin + Airhawk = Heaven

Probably not what your looking for however.......when I wear my Richa slider jeans which seem to have almost cardboard thickness leather on the butt......I can ride for hundreds of miles no probs........cosy textiles however leads to numb bum after around 60 miles. Great solution as I'm pretty anal and like bikes to look the way they came off the production line............!£100 much cheaper than £400 for a bolt on armchair as well Nae offence tae that Blingy Thunder laddie.........who's gorgeous bike is the exception that proves the rule.............!

PS.......Very true what you say though........I think Speyside is an area thats often overlooked even by resident Scots in favour of the North West!

I went for a Sargent (while I was in the States for work) which made the pain in my wallet less severe.

An alternative I thought about was to buy a scuffed up stock seat on Ebay and send it away to be remodeled.

Lots of people have done this on other (non GS) forums and have been pleased with the results.

An Airhawk fixed that for me for the next one.

Leather trews

Like hibee, I advocate leather trousers. I get paralyzed but painful butt bones after an hour in cloth trews but can ride all day in leathers.

I think they spread the load better, preventing pressure points.

I fitted lowered footpegs (from Migsel) to my 1150 as I have wonky knees.

On my recent trip to Austria I noticed that in addition to less stress on my knees I could ride longer before my arse ached. The new peg position must redistribute the weight away from the saddle.
