Ian you are spot on! It's so frustrating that you spend thousands of pounds on this sort of thing and then ask £10k for it and guess what...........feck all response. I haven't added up the costs but it will be quite considerable. Just the wheels and tyres nearly £600! Gearbox £600, exhaust £500, paint £650,powder coating, blasting, BMW parts,moto bins,motor works,Chris Shaw,boxer supplies, and many others have all relieved me ( and not in the way I would have liked ).....but there is no point in sprinkling a bit of glitter over a shite as it's still shite underneath :nenau
 
So after saying all that about costs I thought feck it and carried on buying more parts. New indicators and brackets, new rear wiring loom, new rear light :blast

There is something quite rewarding when you fit lovely new parts to a newly painted frame, it feels great :thumb2
 
Ha , I did have a photo, albeit not a very good one, of the bike when I bought it. Here it is but it's too late to put it right at the beginning so I will slot it in here. :D

 
Wow...a real minger....looks like it's been kept out the back under a tree for the last 10 years.
 


I know you can buy pattern cables half the price of genuine BMW but really the difference is clear and they last much much longer :thumb

I totally agree, having restored a few, and currently restoring my R80G/s

 


I decided to change the colour of the bike, the black and yellow doesn't do it for me really, so the old seat was sold ( thanks Neil)
and a nice new one was collected from siebenrock.
 
The panels and petrol tank i dropped off at Tunneruk's paintshop in Kent (as I'm in and out of the UK via the Chunnel it was no problem) and he agreed to do the work...goody gumdrops :drool I can't wait to collect them, thanks Chris :drool
